Blackridge Geospatial was founded on a straightforward conviction: the geospatial industry is on the edge of a fundamental transformation, and the companies that move now will define what comes next. We intend to be one of them.
Co-Founder, President, CEO
Jonathan Velde grew up in Carmel, Indiana — a community built on hard work, ambition, and the belief that doing things right is the only way worth doing them. Those values didn't stay in the background. They became the operating system for everything that followed.
Before founding Blackridge Geospatial, Jonathan spent years on executive teams in the restaurant industry — one of the most demanding, high-throughput operational environments in business. Managing multi-unit operations, leading teams under pressure, and delivering consistent results at scale taught him something that no classroom can: execution is a discipline, not a circumstance.
When the infrastructure intelligence industry began its rapid evolution, Jonathan saw what others were slow to recognize — that this wasn't just a new service category. It was the early infrastructure of a fully autonomous future. The convergence of AI, precision sensors, reality capture, and connected data systems was going to reshape how land, infrastructure, and assets are understood and managed. He wanted to be part of building that future, not watching it from the sidelines.
Blackridge Geospatial was founded with that vision at its core: to deliver enterprise-grade geospatial intelligence today, while positioning the company at the leading edge of autonomous flight mapping for tomorrow.
"The future of this industry is autonomous. Our job right now is to build the operational foundation, the client trust, and the technical capability to lead when that moment arrives."
— Jonathan Velde, Co-Founder & CEO
Blackridge Geospatial is not a photography company that added drones. We are an infrastructure intelligence company building toward a future where reality capture systems collect, process, and deliver precision intelligence with minimal friction — at any scale, on any timeline.
Every project we take on today — every aerial survey, every infrastructure inspection, every AI-assisted deliverable — is building the operational infrastructure and client relationships that will define what autonomous geospatial intelligence looks like in practice.
Every deliverable is built to the highest standard we can produce. We review outputs before delivery and do not ship data we would not stand behind.
Our roadmap is built around autonomous and intelligent flight operations — designed to increase repeatability, reduce variability, and scale geospatial intelligence across infrastructure programs.
Built by operators who understand high-volume, high-stakes environments. Execution is not optional — it is the standard.
Whether you need a single-site deliverable or a long-term monitoring program, we scope every engagement to match your project's actual requirements.
