Why Drones Are Transforming Infrastructure Inspection

Safety

Regulatory Considerations

Drone inspection in controlled airspace — near airports, in urban areas — requires LAANC authorization or FAA waivers. Operations near power lines and transmission infrastructure may require coordination with the utility owner. Operations over active roadways or railways require traffic control planning.

All of these requirements are manageable with proper planning — but they need to be addressed before the inspection, not during it.
